Sheet Metal Plater
Wiltech Acoustics, part of The Wilmott Group, is seeking a driven and motivated Metal Sheet Plater to support the team during a rapid period of growth. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about sheet metal fabrication and thrives in a friendly, high‑standard work environment.
Responsibilities
* Cut, shape, and assemble steel plate components.
* Build parts/assemblies to engineering drawings with precision.
* Ensure quality by conducting visual inspections and maintaining high standards throughout the fabrication process.
* Operate fabrication machines such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind, and adjust materials.
* Work from engineering drawings and specifications, applying correct revisions.
* Place each component in its appropriate spot according to blueprints.
* Use hand tools and power tools to execute technical tasks, including grinding, burning, and other fabrication steps.
* Review blueprints, drawings, and specification papers before and during fabrication to ensure accuracy.
* Employ furnaces or hand torches to heat materials for bending or manipulation to meet specifications.
* Develop templates and jigs for common tasks to maintain a consistent standard of work quality.
Requirements
* Good knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication.
* Understanding of Q.C. inspection processes.
* Experience with drilling machines, rolling machines, and guillotines.
* Previous experience handling steel metal fabrication.
* Ability to interpret work from drawings.
* Competence in using hand and power tools.
