Mechanical Engineering Design Technician - 2 Posts
Building & Design Services are Hull City Councils Construction Design Consultancy Department providing a comprehensive range of construction design services which cover Operational, Commercial, Corporate, and Housing portfolios and include architecture, building and quantity surveying, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering, landscape architecture, statutory compliance, property maintenance, asset management and land surveying.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, efficient, professional, and motivated individual reporting to the Associate Professional Lead of Building Services (Design Services). You will primarily be assisting in production of mechanical building service design projects including, design calcs, cad drawings and ensuring contractual works and service delivery is maintained and upheld.
You will have a varied role, undertaking surveys and providing asset condition reports, drafting technical design, preparing estimates, reviewing risk assessments and method statements, preparing technical specifications, supervising, guiding, and instructing contractors. Additionally, you will consult with relevant parties to identify needs and implementation of replacement and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
Candidates shall have a proven experience in a similar role and a working knowledge of the associated legislation, British Standards and Building Regulations, is essential.
This post would be ideal for a mechanical services engineer with experience of building services installations who is keen to progress their career into a supervisory and advisory role.
