The successful candidates will join a rapidly expanding Respiratory Department. We are seeking two outstanding clinicians to complement the current respiratory service, with opportunities to contribute to subspecialty development aligned to service need.
Lung Cancer Focus
Essential Qualifications
* Sub‑specialist experience in lung cancer
* Experience of leading or contributing to lung cancer MDTs
* Experience in bronchoscopy and EBUS
* Experience of lung cancer referral triage and pathway management
Desirable Qualifications
* Evidence of service development within lung cancer pathways
* Research or audit activity related to lung cancer
Responsibilities
* Participate in ward management of patients on Lamb Ward, including block rotations of 8 weeks to maintain patient continuity and collaborate with colleagues.
* Be involved in the management of respiratory cases on other wards.
* Take part in the weekly departmental meeting, including case presentations, journal club and mortality review.
* Participate in the ongoing post‑Covid‑19 follow‑up, interstitial lung disease, TB and cough clinics, providing clinical input as required.
* Have scheduled sessions in managing respiratory cases, including pleural procedures.
* Contribute to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and support the development of service pathways within lung cancer care.

Department Overview
The Respiratory Department receives approximately 3,000 new patients annually, aiming to offer an appointment within four weeks of referral. It comprises a lung function laboratory led by Chief Physiologist Rama Gorrela, a full allergy service, a growing sleep service and a sizeable CPAP cohort of over 3,000 patients. Endoscopic facilities support thoracic and bronchoscopy services, while the lung cancer service is supported by a Lung CNS, an Acute Oncology Nurse and a team of palliative care nurses.
