NLC9: £34, - £40, Per Year (Pro-Rata for Part Time)
We are looking for a confident individual to advise and assist in relation to licensing duties. Much of the work is preventative and has an important role in ensuring that North Lanarkshire Council is the place to live, learn, work, invest and visit.
The Licensing Standards Officer provides advice and assistance on the undernoted matters in respect of all licensed activities in terms of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act :
1. Whether a licence is required
2. Complaints about a licence holder
3. Advice in relation to policy matters
4. Information held on the public registers in relation to current licence holders
In addition, the role has a specific remit under the Licensing Scotland Act which includes:
5. Advising and assisting licence holders and prospective licence holders on the legislation and on North Lanarkshire Council’s Licensing Board policy
6. Supervising compliance with the condition on which licences are granted and ensuring premises are being run in accordance with operating plans submitted to the Licensing Board for approval
7. Providing a mediation service where disputes have arisen between the licence holder or any other person
8. Issuing notices to licence holders requiring any breach of condition to be remedied.
Working Patterns:
Full Time Post: Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm, Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm.
Part Time Post: To be discussed at interview.
