Seymour John Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a warm, family-run business based in Welshpool, looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their close-knit and growing finance team.
Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and friendly organisation, working directly under an experienced and approachable Financial Controller. You'll be a key part of a small finance team where your contributions are valued, and your role offers real variety across the accounting function.
And for the animal lovers—this office occasionally gets visits from some very well-behaved office dogs!
Main Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end sales and purchase ledger processes.
* Process and post invoices and credit notes using Sage 50.
* Reconcile invoices using stock control and weighbridge software.
* Oversee supplier self-billing and ensure timely payment runs.
* Ensure purchase orders follow internal approvals.
* Resolve ledger queries promptly and professionally.
* Complete regular supplier statement reconciliations.
* Lead credit control in line with customer terms and KPIs.
* Handle BACS payments, employee expenses, and company card transactions.
* Support both month-end and year-end reporting.
* Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
* Provide ad hoc finance support to the Financial Controller.
Requirements
* Entry-level AAT qualification or similar experience in an accounts role.
* Solid credit control background.
* High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
* Confident communicator with a collaborative approach.
* Experience with Sage 50 and Excel is advantageous.
