Berkeley Strategic Land is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Berkeley Group, focusing on acquiring and managing long‑term strategic sites for future development. The role is based at the Oxford and Chiltern regional head office in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, with regular travel throughout the South East.
Role
As part of an ambitious, multi‑disciplinary team, your main purpose is to support the Land team in all activities related to identifying, acquiring and managing strategic land on behalf of Berkeley Strategic, and to support the Planning team as required.
Core Duties
* Support the land team in identifying strategic land opportunities within the Company’s search area, predominantly in the South East of England.
* Prepare detailed appraisals of strategic land opportunities, identifying constraints and opportunities.
* Assist in detailed financial appraisals to assess risk and return.
* Prepare and submit offers to land owners, negotiating commercial terms.
* Conduct due diligence prior to submission of offers and exchange of contracts to clearly articulate opportunities and risks.
* Manage existing land assets, liaising with tenants, managing agents, legal advisors and other contractors as required.
* Support the Planning team as needed.
* Report to the Land Manager and collaborate with senior management of the Strategic Land business.
Experience Required
* University degree.
* Working towards RICS (Planning & Development) or RTPI membership.
* Demonstrable interest and knowledge of the property development industry.
* Proactive, motivated self‑starter keen to learn and add value to a highly experienced team.
* Organised, structured approach to work.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East region.

Standard full‑time working hours in the office are 8am‑5pm, with core working hours 9am‑4pm.
