A Vacancy at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
As a Locum Consultant at the Trust, you will share responsibility for the development and delivery of your clinical service. You will work with colleagues to ensure that your service meets all relevant professional, national, and local service standards and targets. You will contribute to the delivery of an annual service plan that includes patient activity and revenue as part of the hospital's overall business plan. You will be expected to take part in audit and publish measures of your outcomes appropriate to specialty.
You will engage with the General Medical Council revalidation process and demonstrate behaviours and values expected of all staff, including pride in the services, humanity and consideration for patients and colleagues, and continuous improvement through research, development, and innovation.
The post will cover lower limb trauma as part of the major trauma centre at UHSx, with clinical activities at QVH mainly focusing on the hand trauma service. There is potential to support the directorate in achieving national and regional targets. The job plan provides indicative scheduling details of the clinical activity and related components that occur at regular times in the week. QVH is working towards seven-day services, which will require collaborative working among consultants.

We specialise in eyes (corneoplastics), hands, head and neck cancer, skin cancer, reconstructive breast surgery, maxillofacial surgery and prosthetics, providing regional and national services. Our teams also treat more common conditions of the eyes, hands, skin, and teeth for East Grinstead and surrounding areas. Responsibilities
* Share responsibility for the development and delivery of the clinical service
* Ensure compliance with professional, national, and local standards and targets
* Contribute to the annual service plan including patient activity and revenue
* Participate in audit and publish outcome measures appropriate to the specialty
* Act as a senior figure and role model within the organisation
* Engage with the General Medical Council revalidation process
* Cover lower limb trauma within the major trauma centre; focus on hand trauma with potential to support national/regional targets
* Follow the indicative job plan and adapt to seven-day service objectives
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience as a Consultant in relevant specialties (as applicable to the post)
* Commitment to service development, audit, and continuous improvement
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
