Overview
Are you a highly organised and emotionally intelligent professional with a deep understanding of the education sector? We are seeking a Virtual School Business Support Officer to join our team supporting the education of Children Looked After (CLA) Previously Looked After Children (PLAC) Children with a Social Worker CWSW and Kinship Care. The postholder will work autonomously to support the Business Manager, Headteacher, and Deputy Headteacher of the Virtual School. This role is central to delivering both statutory and non-statutory duties, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Virtual School. You will use your excellent communication, research, and problem-solving skills to anticipate and address issues proactively. A strong understanding of the education system and current national priorities is essential.
Responsibilities
* Support the Business Manager in managing the distribution of the Pupil Premium Grant, ensuring targets are aligned with each child\'s attainment and needs.
* Analyse and monitor costed targets within Personal Education Plans (PEPs), approving appropriate requests and communicating unsuitable ones back to education settings.
* Provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the Senior Leadership Team, using initiative and sound judgement while keeping them fully informed.
* Offer professional advice and guidance to school staff, social workers, and foster carers to help close the educational achievement gap for children in care.
* Maintain a strong awareness of the national education landscape and the impact of social care on educational outcomes.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a business support or education administration role
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with emotional intelligence
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
