Job Purpose
To provide Industrial Control and Automation (C&A) maintenance and engineering support to Water and Wastewater Production, Catchment, Drainage Area, and Network teams to ensure security of supplies and deliver high-quality water and wastewater services to customers.
The role focuses on minor OT modification requests from various business areas to improve process efficiency and reduce costs. Proactively engaging with customers to understand their needs and deliver meaningful outputs is essential. An in-depth understanding of change control, producing and modifying FDS documentation, testing, and commissioning is required.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Plan, manage, and deliver small OT changes following UU change control procedures
* Provide efficient C&A maintenance and installation services to meet quality, performance, and safety standards
* Analyse faults, rectify issues, and ensure correct operation of C&A equipment to optimise water and wastewater asset availability
* Ensure all automation and control equipment with software configurations are securely backed up on a central system
* Provide reliable asset performance and repair information for corporate systems to support analysis and improvement
* Work on a 24/7 callout rota is a key requirement
Technical Skills & Experience
* Understanding of operation and programming tools for multiple PLCs, both legacy and current frameworks
* Knowledge of SCADA, HMI, and client applications on various systems
* Understanding of Fieldbus and IP-based communication networks and topologies
* Knowledge of point-to-point and multi-point radio systems
* Familiarity with telemetry devices and wide-area communication basics
* Understanding of information security best practices
* Full UK driving license
Qualifications
* Formal Electrical or Instrumentation apprenticeship and qualified to HNC/HND level in Instrumentation, Control, and Automation
