An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the busy Gastroenterology department at the Princess of Wales Hospital.
The post holder will support the Directorate with administrative tasks as required by the directorate management team, including audio typing, general administration and waiting list management.
The post holder will also be expected to manage and prioritise their own workload using experience and initiative, and act as communication link for the Senior Management Team. This will involve the post holder being able to communicate with various services and agencies, internal and external and with personnel at all levels.
* Require excellent verbal communication skills responding to enquires face to face as well as dealing with telephone queries. At times the information may be of a sensitive nature and the ability to deal with emotional/distressed patients/visitors is essential. The post holder may also be required to deal with communication barriers which will require tact and diplomacy.
* Be responsible for a number of administrative and clerical tasks, which could include but not be limited to, up-dating patient pathways correctly and managing clinic outcomes, up-dating WPAS in line with UHB guidelines, as well as generic administrative duties e.g. photocopying a variety of documents as requested, filing papers and electronic documents in appropriately organised systems, and ensuring that they are available to the team as and when required.
* Be responsible for audio and/or copy typing of clinic letter under the supervision of the secretarial team, including numerical data, details for projects or lectures consistent with the clinical work/service requirement.
