The Westminster School is seeking a dedicatedPastoral Support Worker to join our wellbeing and engagement team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a vibrant special school environment, supporting students and their families to overcome barriers to learning and promoting positive attendance and safeguarding practices.
The Westminster School is a special school catering to 320 pupils aged 7–19 with a range of special educational needs. We pride ourselves on delivering a child-centred curriculum and fostering a supportive, inclusive community for both students and staff.
Responsibilities
* Acting as an advocate for pupils, working closely with families, staff, and external agencies.
* Promoting high levels of attendance and punctuality.
* Supporting students in achieving their full academic and personal potential.
* Responding to safeguarding concerns and maintaining accurate records using systems like CPOMS and SIMS.
* Leading and contributing to multi-agency meetings and interventions.
* Encouraging parental engagement through events and support sessions.
Qualifications and Skills
* GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A*-C / 4 or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and families.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and attendance legislation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel and work flexibly to meet school needs.

Salary: Grade E, SCP 18-25 (£31,537 - £36,363 p.a.) Actual Salary - £27,656 - £32,867 p.a.
