Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced kitchen assistant/capable cook to join our culinary team in a busy pub & hotel setting. This role may be suitable as a step up from a prep chef / Kitchen Porter role. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in food preparation, cooking, and overseeing kitchen operations to ensure high-quality dishes are served.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Head Chef in all aspects of food production and kitchen operations
* Assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes
* Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
* Help manage and train kitchen staff
* Supervise kitchen activities during the Head Chef's absence
* Contribute to menu planning and development
* Maintain stock levels and order supplies as needed
Qualifications:
* Proven recent experience as a Kitchen Assistant / pub cook or similar role in the hospitality industry
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on quality and consistency
* Knowledge of food safety regulations
* Leadership abilities to guide and motivate kitchen staff
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Pay: £10.00-£13.50 per hour
