Main duties of the job
We are seeking motivated, enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and patient-centered Healthcare Support Workers to join our team on Graham Davies Ward/Ready to Go Home Unit at Llanidloes War Memorial Hospital. The ward currently operates as a multi-disciplinary led care unit. Ideal candidates will work well within a team, demonstrate caring and kindness, and wish to develop their skills in a ward/ready-to-go-home setting. Strong communication skills, a sympathetic attitude, and a commitment to high standards of patient care are essential. The role involves shift work, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays. Knowledge of Welsh is desirable but not essential; applications from both English and Welsh speakers are welcome.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or knowledge (Essential):
* Demonstrable transferable skills suitable for healthcare, equivalent to NVQ/QCF Level 2
* NVQ / QCF Level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent
Desirable:
* ECDL
Aptitude and abilities (Essential):
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to accurately chart observations such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, blood glucose, fluid input/output, bowel movements, dietary intake
* Ability to take patient samples (urine, feces, blood, MRSA swabs)
* Verbalise a caring attitude and note patient progress in care evaluations
* Participate in team meetings, care monitoring, audits, and evaluations
Desirable:
* Ability to speak Welsh
Other essential qualities:
* Willingness to work during unsocial hours
* Understanding of health and safety issues
* Ability to travel between sites promptly
