Youll figure out whats happening and take action to fix the problem, and keep customers reassured throughout. Its a role that takes technical skill, but also confidence, calm thinking, good judgement, and clear communication.As a Level 3 Customer Engineering Apprentice in gas networks, you'll blend classroom learning with hands-on experience.
Youll work alongside experienced engineers in customers homes, while building your knowledge and skills at our York Training Centre.As you develop, youll take on the work carried out by our Service Beyond the Meter team. From repairs & maintenance to installations in customers homes. Youll also support people in more vulnerable situations, supporting those who may be older, unwell, or unsure of how to fix their boiler.
Its about taking the time to listen, explaining things clearly and making sure they feel safe in their own home.You dont need to have it all figured out from day one. This is a role where youll grow in confidence, build practical skills, and develop with a strong support network around you. And after 2 years, youll be ready to step into the role fully, using your skills to support customers when it matters most.The future of Northern Gas Network looks a lot like you.You don't need experience in this kind of role to get started.
