We are looking for a proactive and hands-on
Operations Manager
to oversee the effective resourcing and coordination of people, plant, and equipment across a portfolio of construction projects. This is a roving position, requiring close collaboration with project teams, supervisors, and the wider business to ensure delivery against key initiatives, productivity goals, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Resource Planning & Coordination:
Ensure effective forecasting, gap analysis, and allocation of operatives, supervisors, and equipment to meet project needs.
* Confidence in Competence:
Evidence and maintain the competence, training, and relevant experience of supervisors and safety-critical roles, particularly around top business risks.
* Blue Collar Resourcing Risks:
Monitor and manage workforce hire rates, benefits, working hours, and out-of-hours authorisations to remain competitive and within agreed standards.
* Productivity:
Identify and address projects operating above labour budgets or below productivity expectations, driving corrective actions with senior stakeholders.
* Quality:
Oversee competence and training in quality-critical roles, focusing on top quality risks across allocated projects.
* Project Start-Up:
Enforce site establishment standards from project launch and monitor compliance with health, safety, and leadership teams.
* Mentoring & Development:
Induct and mentor new supervisors and construction managers, while monitoring and upskilling existing supervisors and leading hands.
* Plant & Equipment:
Oversee procurement, utilisation, and maintenance of plant and equipment, ensuring efficiency, care, and best practice across projects.
* Lessons Learned:
Act as the central point of contact for sharing knowledge and lessons learned across all projects and teams.

* Proven experience in operations, resource, or project management within a construction or engineering environment.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets, productivity, and resource allocation.
* A proactive approach to problem solving, risk management, and continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple projects and stakeholders.
