Job Description: Join our Low Force Production team as a Test Technician. This role is responsible for the assembly and test of the full range of our Low Force Hydraulic machines, working within a highly technical environment using the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and schematic drawings to achieve our high quality standards. The successful candidate will provide a focused and flexible working approach in order to meet customer requirements - both internal and external. They will also liaise with Operational Engineering to enhance and improve existing products and manufacturing efficiencies. The role is based at Instron's European Headquarters in High Wycombe. Key Competencies: · Basic PC literacy including familiarity with MS Office and the ability to work with Instron's business management systems (IFS, AGILE etc.) · Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences - both written and verbal - in an effective, prompt and timely manner. · Proven interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a team and to operate independently · Demonstrates attention to detail to ensure business needs are achieved in terms of 'right first time' and 'on - time customer delivery' · An analytical and logical approach to problem solving, both product and process based and logging of data test results. · Demonstrates practical dexterity within an engineering environment with a 'Can Do' attitude and capacity for further development. Key Qualifications and Experiences: · Minimum qualifications at Level 2 (GCSE) in Maths, English and a Science based subject (Grades A-C or 8-4), or · HNC /level 4 (previous experience will be considered) in Engineering based subject i.e. Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering, or · Experience working within an Electromechanical manufacturing environment with an understanding of Process improvement i.e. Lean manufacturing, 5s) · Familiarity with test and measurement equipment i.e. DVM's, oscilloscopes, Vernier's and micrometers. · Ability to interpret test results and ensure data integrity using computerised test equipment and programs. · Experience of project management or inventory management would be beneficial. Work Environment: · Standard factory working environment with temperature and noise fluctuation. · Requirement for adhering to anti-static procedures with exposure to high voltage test equipment. · Flexible start and finish times can be negotiated.
