We are seeking a professional, experienced, and dependable Housekeeper & Pet Carer to join a private household in Henley-on-Thames. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a long-term opportunity for someone with high standards in housekeeping and a genuine love for dogs.
The family are looking for someone to help maintain the household and care for three small dogs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and confident managing both housekeeping responsibilities and daily pet care.
The role is live-in/live-out. Whilst you are not required to live at the property on a permanent basis, you must be available during periods when the homeowner is travelling, to provide full-time, overnight care for the dogs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full housekeeping duties to a high standard (cleaning, tidying, upkeep of home)
* Laundry and wardrobe management
* Grocery shopping and kitchen organisation
* Managing household supplies and inventories
* Meal prep, mostly for animals
* Daily care of three small dogs – feeding, letting out, cleaning up after them, walking, administering medication if needed
* Overnight pet care when the homeowner is away, including managing routines and keeping the dogs company
* General household organisation
* Occasional PA support, such as taking calls and messages, scheduling appointments, receiving deliveries and liaising with contractors or service providers
Requirements:
* Excellent attention to detail and time management
* Able to take initiative and work independently
* Highly trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of personal boundaries
* Confident and caring with dogs; experience with pet care is essential
* Good communication skills; ability to coordinate with the principal and main PA
* Must be flexible and available to stay overnight during travel periods
Accommodation (Live-In When Required):
* Private bedroom and bathroom provided during overnight stays
* All utilities included during live-in periods
* Peaceful, comfortable home environment
* Access to shared kitchen and living areas
Schedule & Terms:
* Full-Time: Approx. 40 hours per week, with flexibility
* Core hours Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend or evening support
* Overnight care expected during travel periods (time off in lieu provided where appropriate)
