Fund Governance Manager needed in Trowbridge, £50,788 to £52,805 per annum – Reference: 1528070
The purpose of the Fund is to meet all future pension liabilities of its scheme members, while seeking to minimize contributions paid into the Fund by employer bodies. The level of employer contributions is assessed every three years through an actuarial valuation.
The Wiltshire Pension Fund administers pensions for over 170 employer organizations, including local authorities, FE colleges, academies, charities, and third-party service providers. The Pension Team oversees the governance and administration of the Fund, which currently has liabilities and assets valued at approximately £3 billion.
Ensuring correct administration is critical to comply with regulatory requirements and avoid fines and reputational risks. The management of the Fund’s assets and liabilities affects its solvency and the contributions required from employer organizations, which can be substantial (£40m per annum for Wiltshire alone).
The Fund guarantees that pension benefits are paid accurately and timely, manages relationships with scheme employers, and oversees their admission and cessation. It also monitors and reviews the investment strategy, proposing improvements to ensure assets and costs are managed legally and efficiently. Investment management services are procured through the Brunel Pension Partnership, involving 10 LGPS Funds.
