Job title: EC&I Design Engineer
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: As soon as possible, subject to clearance
Location: Huddersfield
Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Role & Responsibilities:
* You will take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work.
* You will deliver fit-for-purpose, practical engineering design in line with specifications, budget, and programme.
* You will support and promote all company and client site directives – HSEQ, best practice, innovations, continual improvement.
* You will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
* You will maintain up-to-date knowledge and competence to support the role and align with client’s and industry’s requirements and directives.
* You will produce and update detailed EC&I design documentation, including loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, failsafe circuits, LV power distribution & protection, single line diagrams, control panel GAs and layouts, instrument air distribution and control, instrument air system layouts, instrumentation hook-ups, and functional testing procedures.
* You will comply with both national and site standards.
* You will carry out site surveys.
* You will compile document work packs.
* You will adhere to company and site procedures related to engineering design, project control, documentation control, procurement, and verification.
* You will support other activities such as estimating, commissioning, hand-over, and procurement.
* You will contribute to teams supporting continual improvement.
* You will work independently using your own initiative.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Degree/ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years experience as an EC&I Design Engineer - Essential.
* Proficient in AutoCAD - Essential.
* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent HSE qualification - Desirable.
* Functional Safety, IEC61508 – TUV or equivalent - Desirable.
* Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations - Desirable.
* Experience working in a COMAH Tier 1 Process Manufacturing Environment - Desirable.
