Space To Stay is our seasonal summer lets operation based at Space St Andrews, welcoming guests from across the UK and beyond during the summer period. From short stays and group bookings to holidaymakers, we deliver a warm, effortless guest experience in a vibrant and fast-paced environment.
Opening in March 2026, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the start of the season and play a key role in setting standards, supporting operations, and ensuring our accommodation looks and feels exceptional every day.
Full time 40 Hours, Fixed Term until 25th September 2026.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Summer Housekeeping Supervisor to support the smooth running of our housekeeping operation throughout the summer season.
Reporting into the Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining excellent cleanliness standards across bedrooms and communal spaces, supervising the housekeeping team, and ensuring all rooms are inspected and guest-ready to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a busy environment, takes pride in high standards, and can confidently lead a team to deliver consistent results.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations
1. Supervise daily housekeeping activity across guest rooms, corridors, and communal areas.
• Ensure all rooms are cleaned and presented to a consistently high standard.
• Carry out room inspections, identifying issues and ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Support turnaround periods and high-volume changeover days, ensuring targets are met.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, presentation, and attention to detail throughout the building.
Team Supervision
2. Allocate daily workloads and task lists to housekeeping staff.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure expectations are clear.
• Lead by example, working alongside the team during busy periods.
• Assist with onboarding and training seasonal staff as required.
• Help create a positive and productive working environment.
Stock and Supplies
3. Monitor housekeeping stock levels and report requirements to management.
• Ensure linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies are well controlled and correctly stored.
• Support linen processes including delivery schedules, collection, and internal distribution.
• Minimise waste and ensure cost-effective use of materials.
Standards, Compliance and Safety
4. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, COSHH, and safe working practices.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns quickly and accurately.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used correctly and maintained in good condition.
• Support audit processes and uphold company housekeeping standards at all times.
Guest Experience
5. Ensure guest-facing spaces are welcoming, clean, and consistently maintained.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping-related issues.
• Support service recovery where needed, ensuring problems are resolved quickly and calmly.
• Take pride in creating a positive first impression for every guest arrival.
What We’re Looking For
6. Previous experience in housekeeping, ideally in a supervisory role within hospitality, hotels, PBSA, or serviced accommodation.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards.
• Confident leading a team, allocating tasks, and managing room inspections.
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment with tight deadlines.
• Organised, reliable, and capable of managing priorities across the shift.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to support the team wherever needed.
• Strong communication skills and a calm, solutions-focused mindset.
