About the Role:
We are looking for a caring andmitted SEN Teaching Assistant to join our FS2 team in a primary school based in Wallasey. This role involves supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a nurturing Early Years environment, helping them to access learning and thrive socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support to children in FS2 with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, and developmental delays.
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities.
Support children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to promote progress and independence.
Assist with personal care routines and sensory needs where required.
Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment.
Observe and record pupil progress, feeding back to the teacher and SENCO.
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to support individual learning plans.
Requirements:
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above preferred).
Experience working in FS2 or EYFS, particularly with children who have SEN.
A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach.
Strongmunication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Desirable:
Experience supporting children with EHCPs.
Familiarity with Makaton, PECs, or othermunication tools.
First Aid and/or Manual Handling training.
