SEN Teaching Assistant – Southampton
Prospero Teaching is looking for a motivated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support students in an excellent mainstream secondary school in Southampton.
This is a large mixed 11-16 secondary school with approximately 1300 pupils on roll. The school is very ethnically diverse, with a fantastic senior leadership team. There is also a small population of students with special needs, including Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
The position is open to candidates with a strong background in youth work, sports coaching, support work or related experience of mentoring children and young adults.
If you are also a recent graduate looking to gain more classroom experience, this position could be ideal for you.
This is a highly rewarding role. The School are looking for individuals that are supportive, non-judgemental, patient, easy to talk to, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to pupils in a manner which encourages and supports them, enabling you to build trusting relationships.
You will be supporting pupils across the age and ability ranges, both on a 1:1 and in small groups.
Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

5. Full time/part time – Monday to Friday
6. Minimum rate of pay – £85 per day
