The Role As a Waking Night Crisis Recovery Worker, you will provide essential emotional and practical support throughout the night to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Youll play a vital role in ensuring a calm, safe, and therapeutic environment, helping service users manage distress and work toward recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, therapeutic, and recovery-focused support during night hours.
Offer a calming and reassuring presence for individuals experiencing mental health distress.
Promote safety, stability, and independence in line with care and risk management plans.
Maintain detailed and accurate records, handovers, and incident reports.
Liaise effectively with day staff, on-call managers, and external professionals as required.
About You Were looking for someone with a genuine passion for mental health support and the flexibility to work waking night shifts as part of a small, dedicated team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experience in mental health, supported living, crisis, or recovery services.
Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
Understanding of recovery-focused and therapeutic approaches.
Empathetic, patient, and emotionally resilient.
Flexible to work waking nights, including weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable:
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or working toward).
Experience supporting individuals with primary mental health needs.
