The role covers the whole project lifecycle from capture to initial inception, through the design process, procurement process and delivery.

Here’s what you’ll do:

The role will be overseeing works across the UK and elsewhere, depending on project demand. You will be expected to take a leading role in the management and delivery of projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and approved supply chain, as well as supporting the development of client relationships.

Project Delivery:

1. Oversee multidisciplinary projects and programmes from inception to completion.

2. Develop and execute the Project Plan, including close-out phases.

3. Identify and mitigate project and business risks.

4. Prepare for and participate in monthly project reviews, managing and executing action items.

5. Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

6. Maintain the AECOM project management and reporting system.

7. Ensure project cost and revenue are current and accurately reflect anticipated financial outcomes and manage project cash flow performance.

Project Management Team Leadership:

8. Collaborate with practice leads and client account managers to understand project resource needs.

9. Coordinate with other business units to allocate resources for energy projects.

10. Advocate for structured project delivery methods to integrate broader AECOM disciplines.

11. Mentor, develop and coach team members to support their professional development.

12. Grow the team and foster positive team morale.

13. Act as the point of escalation for the client to raise issues if needed.

14. Support the PM with any difficult client conversations and contractual negotiations.

15. Support the PM in identifying opportunities with the client (e.g., change/variation or new task orders, follow-on services, emerging project opportunities, etc.).

16. Identify and close any PM capability gaps through one-on-one coaching, focused training, mentoring, development, or through assigning additional suitable resources to the project.

Client Relationship Management and Business Development:

17. Foster a client-centric culture within the project team.

18. Address client feedback and implement appropriate actions.

19. Manage client and project team change effectively to ensure the project delivers superior technical outcomes for the client.

20. Leverage successful project delivery to cultivate additional work opportunities with clients.

21. Lead, as capture manager, large multi discipline proposals.

22. Be the framework manager for our largest growth frameworks.

23. Participate in client presentations and interviews.

Enjoy the Perks.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

We are looking for someone who is forward thinking and have a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude. You will relish the challenge of demanding situations, steep learning curves, tight deadlines and delivering on complex projects.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

24. Familiarity with differing contractual agreements, particularly NEC, would be advantageous as would having responsibility for controlling projects and ensuring deliverables are completed and submitted in time.

25. Ideally, you will have formal PM qualifications or accreditation.

26. Strong analytical capabilities and adept at problem-solving.

27. High level of attention to detail.

28. Extensive experience with a proven track record in leading and delivering large-scale, multi-disciplinary energy projects from DCO through to design and delivery.

31. Skilled in managing senior project managers, project managers, and project control functions on complex projects.
