Hays Accountancy and Finance are recruiting and working in partnership with a large public sector organisation for the appointment of a Staff Officer Accountant offering a competitive market leading salary and public benefits. This role is in the Department of Finance-Finance Division, Goodwood House, Belfast city centre. This is up to 2 days in the office, flexible working and perfect if you are seeking a good work/life balance.
Your new role
While the precise duties and responsibilities of individual posts will vary according to the business area, the business partner post will include the following activities:
1. The management and forecasting of the salary budget for a number of business areas
2. Production of monthly management accounting information
3. Input to the annual budgeting process and financial planning for future budget periods
4. Input to production of required financial accounting information for interim and year-end departmental resource accounts
5. Preparation of financial reports for SMT, SLT and Departmental Board
6. Preparation and management of non-cash budgets
7. Dealing with internal and external auditors
8. Advise business areas, budgetholders and SMT of financial position and issues
9. Provide advice and guidance to budget holders on budgets, profiling and forecasting, business cases/approvals, funding and charging and accounting treatments
10. Assisting with required work as part of the Integr8 project.

* Have current full membership of one of the CCAB Chartered Accountant Institutes
