We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team based in Westwood. This is an exciting opportunity offering hybrid working along with a salary from £58,693 to £71,634 along with a strong benefits package.
Senior Finance Business Partner
Here's what you'll be doing
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Finance Business Partner to join our City Energy Solutions (CES) team. In this pivotal role, you will support CES in achieving its financial targets, ensuring the successful delivery of Medium Term Plans (MTP), and providing comprehensive insights into the monthly performance of our diverse portfolio of assets within the Generation business stream. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining a robust financial control environment across multiple sites, leveraging various systems, processes, and people to drive excellence. Key Responsibilities:
* Stakeholder relationships: You’ll have full functional controlling support for the P&L and all other financial dimensions (balance sheet/cash/CAPEX) and you’ll be the lead Business Partner to business head, and site budget holders. Additionally, you’ll provide expertise on financial processes to site managers, team leaders, their budget holders and all staff/contractors on-site.
* Forecasting: You’ll lead the annual MTP process, prepare quarterly forecasts/Latest Best View submissions and provide insightful analysis and interpretation to guide and inform long term business strategy and decision making.
* Reporting: You will be responsible for month end reporting process, including preparation of journals and reporting packs, for the full Generation P&L (gross margin, controllable costs, capital expenditure, FTE and operational metrics). You will lead on annual impairment test reviews and also support annual audit processes.
* Insight: You will provide full financial insight, to support steering achievement of MTP commitments, support commercial decision making, and guide future strategic direction.
* Risk & opportunities: It will be up to you to capture & monitor financial risks and opportunities and have input into their resolution, to provide controlling of maintenance projects (CAPEX/OPEX) including support of project prioritization and ensure consistent standards in terms of process and reporting quality, adhering to common finance policies, processes, systems and procedures as required by the business.
* Governance & Control: With your understanding of the key financial drivers for the sites you’ll effectively manage financial controls on site in line with internal policy and external regulation and brief the site management team on emergent issues to ensure finances are kept within budget and forecasts are delivered.
* Commercial: Alongside our Commercial teams, you will provide commercial business support to drive performance and support the business, providing detailed financial reports to support existing external customer contracts.
* Innovation & digitalisation: You will be proactive in driving process efficiency and improving data accuracy, driving change and implementing, where possible, digital solutions to automate processes.
What we need from you
* Previous experience of adding value within a commercial focused finance role
* Degree educated with membership of a professional accounting institute (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Good understanding of accounting standards and application.
* Resilience and ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to deal effectively and confidently with all individuals at all levels of the business.
* Must have strong commercial acumen and proven ability to identify key issues
* Track record of stakeholder management with ability to provide both effective support and challenge to senior customers and stakeholders.
* A proactive and creative approach to problem solving, and challenging established thinking.
* Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and SAP.
