We are currently recruiting for Behavioural Support Assistants to join our partner schools across the Bradford area, providing tailored support to students with complex behavioural needs. The Role:
As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties in a Primary School environment. You will be responsible for supporting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them manage their behaviour, engage in their learning, and develop key life skills. Your role will be crucial in fostering a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with complex behavioural needs to engage with their education and personal development.
* Implement behaviour management strategies in line with individual support plans.
* Foster positive relationships with students, helping them develop social and emotional skills.
* Assist in the development and delivery of individualised learning activities.
* Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure that students’ needs are met.
* Promote a safe and nurturing environment by helping students manage their behaviour in a constructive way.
* Encourage students to participate in classroom activities and support their emotional well-being.
* Provide feedback on student progress and contribute to the review of behaviour management plans.
* Attend training sessions to continuously develop your skills in SEND and behaviour management.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in a behaviour support role, ideally within an education or care setting (experience in SEND is desirable but not essential).
* Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and an understanding of how to support students with complex behavioural needs.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students who may have challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to think on your feet.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Ability to work well as part of a team in a supportive, inclusive environment.
* Relevant qualifications in education, health, or social care (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, NVQ, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
