Within our Engineering Department we are now looking for an experienced Two Shift Engineer to join our team to support the Engineering function at our Romford site. The role holder will ensure that maintenance activities and improvement projects related to facilities and equipment are executed, to schedule, budget and in compliance with relevant codes.
Reporting to the Engineering Team Leaders, you will be responsible for:
* Working with Line Management to investigate equipment/plant failures and identify means to prevent a recurrence
* Being an active team member on continuous improvement projects bringing about improvements in working practices to eliminate waste and reduce variation
* Ensuring that the daily schedule is met by attending breakdowns in a timely manner, and resolving issues effectively
* Ensuring that all activities within the engineering function are undertaken to established standards and in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures and instructions.
* Ensuring that incidents/deviations are brought to the attention of line management
* Contributing to incident/deviation investigations to allow appropriate root cause analysis to be completed
* Ensuring that all Risk Assessments required for your area are completed and regularly reviewed and actions arising delivered in a timely manner
Additional Responsibilities:
* Understand fully the requirements of GMP and their application in your role
* Accountable for performing job tasks in a safe manner and complying with internal and external EHS requirements, policies, and programmes.
* Actively support Self-Inspections, action planning and follow-up.
* Responsible for ensuring staff are trained and aware of the importance of data integrity and potential risk to product quality and patient safety
* Maintain good knowledge of relevant governance, Standard Operating Procedures and ways of working
* Assists with the writing of new engineering SOPs
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Educated to A’ Level/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent
* Experience of maintenance engineering within a GMP environment
* Experience of planned preventative maintenance
* Basic machining using lathe and milling machine
* Welding using MIG, ARC and gas techniques
* Maintenance engineering within a pharmaceutical industry is desirable
* Knowledge of Pumps, motors and mechanical drives, electrical drives and basic electric diagnostics
* Knowledge of Operation of PLC based equipment
