The Chief Examiner will ensure question papers are prepared ahead of our dated exam series, are at the required standard, error‑free and of high quality. He or she will support a team of markers during standardisation activities, sampling and provide ongoing support during marking, and then help set grade boundaries for each examination series. The Chief Examiner will also provide guidance on occasional technical queries throughout the year, and support the preparation of our task‑based synoptic assignments.
The Chief Examiner should have strong industry experience, a passion for supporting learners in an important step in their journey, and a commitment to quality and high standards. Experience in writing and reviewing question papers is welcomed but not required.
The Chief Examiner will also provide key technical advice and guidance to support assessment development and delivery across the year when required.
