Job Overview:
Veritas Consultancy (UK) Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our expanding Finance Department in Ilford, East London. This role involves operational accounting, financial planning, reporting, and regulatory compliance to support the company's financial health. Responsibilities include managing payroll, invoices, tax compliance, VAT, end-of-year accounts, budget forecasting, and statutory reporting, working closely with the executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations & Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, reconcile bank accounts, manage credit control, and ensure data accuracy.
2. Payroll & Tax Compliance: Oversee payroll, manage VAT submissions, tax payments, liaise with external tax advisors, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
3. Financial Planning & Reporting: Prepare financial reports, assist in strategic planning, and support year-end processes and audits.
4. Year-End Responsibilities: Coordinate year-end closing, prepare statutory accounts, liaise with auditors, and ensure regulatory filings.
5. Process Improvement & Compliance: Implement controls, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
6. Team Collaboration & Support: Act as the primary contact for finance queries, support related departments, and liaise with external parties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential: Degree in Accounting or related, ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or studying towards, 3+ years' experience, proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, excellent communication skills.
Desirable: Experience with Sage Payroll, charity accounting, knowledge of pension schemes, budgeting tools.

Proactive, discreet, analytical, able to work independently and in teams, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.
