Up to £65,000 + bonus depending on experience

Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across our warehouse and retail operations. This role is critical in driving compliance, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture across multi-site environments.
Please note the role involves supporting and visiting our pharmacy sites which are often in remote locations or where public transport is limited therefore access to a car and a clean valid driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Report to the Board with clear, actionable insights to drive safety improvements.
* Lead the warehouse safety champion programme and chair monthly meetings.
* Deliver compliance reports to warehouse and pharmacy leadership.
* Shape and support the company's Health and Safety strategy.
* Provide expert H&S guidance across all levels and locations.
* Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and SOPs.
* Lead investigations into serious incidents and accidents.
* Conduct site visits and ensure risk assessments and safe working practices are in place.
* Deliver Fire Marshall and Manual Handling training; support online training content.
* Liaise with Enforcing Authorities and escalate issues appropriately.
* Represent the company in legal matters, including court appearances.
* Manage insurance claims and liaise with insurers.
* Ensure property compliance and support facilities management on H&S matters.
Requirements Skills & Experience
* Proven H&S experience in warehousing, logistics, or retail.
* Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and HSE guidelines.
* Skilled in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
* Excellent communicator with leadership experience.
* Familiar with safety management systems and data analysis tools.
* Able to work with senior leadership in a family business environment.
Qualifications
* NEBOSH National Diploma (preferred); NEBOSH Certificate (essential).
* IOSH Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) or working towards.
* Experience managing multi-site safety operations.
* Strong planning, decision-making, and communication skills.
