About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a Category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 wings, each with a medical admin.
Team Composition
* 1 Pharmacy Manager
* 3 Pharmacists
* 2 Senior Pharmacy Technicians
* 4 Pharmacy Technicians
* 4 Pharmacy Assistants
Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Hours: 37.5 per week (07:00–20:15 and 20:00–07:15). Shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday; Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You may work one weekend in four soon.
Salary ranges between £34,428 and £41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high‑quality prison pharmaceutical service, maintaining high security.
* Work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package.
* Promote safe patient care.
* Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
* Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Relevant post‑qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to work in a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
* Experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment is desirable.
