About the Role
We have a brand‑new opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical team based in Manchester. You will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high‑quality service for clients and to develop repeat and new business opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships and create future opportunities.
* Promote the full range of services offered by Hoare Lea and contribute to bid preparation.
* Take ownership of projects, defining and agreeing briefs with clients.
* Lead larger scale schemes and coordinate all disciplines as the main client point of contact.
* Support local team development and contribute to staff development initiatives.
* Manage and prioritise project workloads, delegating and checking work from specialist groups.
* Monitor project expenditure and report cost and resource requirements to management.
* Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy, managing risks to business.
About You
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or closely related role, delivering on a variety of complex projects.
* Strong understanding of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and related mechanical services.
* Experience in a multi‑disciplinary environment with excellent communication skills.
* Proficient use of Revit and AutoCAD.
* Self‑aware, open‑minded, and generous in spirit.
* Familiarity with relevant British Standards.
* Consultancy experience, including complementary specialisms such as acoustics, fire engineering, and modelling.
