Job Description
As Finance & Treasury Accountant, you will provide crucial support to the Financial Controller (FC) in managing the group’s financial control environment, statutory compliance, and reporting processes. This role offers hands-on experience, including involvement in foreign exchange (FX) management, treasury activities, and cashflow monitoring. It’s an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or early-career accountant looking to develop practical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the FC with the preparation and consolidation of group accounts in accordance with UK GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts and key ledgers
* Complete statutory compliance activities
* Help coordinate the statutory audit and liaise with external auditors
* Work with the FC to review and improve internal controls across the group
* Help monitor daily and weekly cashflow (multi-currency), ensuring accuracy and flagging any variances
* Assist with the management of foreign currency exposures and treasury-related tasks (e.g. tracking FX positions, updating forecasts, liaising with banks)
* Preparation of VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory filings
* Support with the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles providing variance analysis and insights
* Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by the FC to support strategic projects, investment appraisals and operational performance
* Maintain clear documentation of financial processes, controls, and treasury procedures
About you
* Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
* Experience in finance, accounting, or audit environments is preferred
* Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP
* Strong Excel and IT skills (Experience with Microsoft NAV desired but not essential)
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Effective communicator able to work with both financial and non-financial colleagues
* Proactive, eager to learn, and able to prioritise multiple tasks
* Ability to take direction and support the FC in a variety of projects
