We are seeking an experienced and passionate
Senior Electrical Designer
to join our engineering team. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components for our industry-leading products. This role requires a commitment to improving communication and leadership capabilities, while honing technical skills to enhance development. You will identify areas for process and operational improvements, and utilize resources to streamline these efforts. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and components, adhering to standards such as EN60204-33, EN13849, UL, CSA, and supporting CE marking processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with mechanical, software, and firmware components. Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard CAD software. Manage planning of engineering tasks and resource allocation with management and other Lead Engineers. Ensure timely delivery of engineering work. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, including onboarding new staff. Maintain output standards, ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and industry standards. Support other departments by providing information and answering queries related to your expertise. Work closely with team members to ensure consistent engineering service delivery. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering function and team, fostering a 'one team' culture. Chair and participate in meetings to communicate team progress and set priorities. Education / Qualifications: Relevant Engineering Degree. Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential. Professional Skills/Abilities: Design of precision mechanical/electrical systems and mechanisms, with knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials, and emerging technologies. Technical excellence in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing/Software) and CAD software (Solid Edge/AutoCAD preferred). Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to identify opportunities for system and process improvements. Knowledge of regulatory and standards compliance requirements.
