About the Senior Structural Engineer role;
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver innovative structural solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial building projects, from early-stage concept design through to construction.
You will play a key role in technical delivery, project leadership, and mentoring junior engineers, while working closely with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure high-quality, practical, and cost-effective designs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead structural design for residential and commercial developments.
* Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
* Manage projects from concept through detailed design and construction phases.
* Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
* Ensure designs comply with relevant UK codes, standards, and regulations.
* Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning and delivery strategies.
Requirements
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartership.
* Significant experience in structural design for residential and commercial buildings.
* Strong knowledge of UK design standards (Eurocodes and British Standards).
* Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
