Junior Project Engineer
* Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
* Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
* Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience
Reed Engineering are working with an interesting marine partner of choice who need a Junior Project Engineer to add to their growing team. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic engineer ready to be enrolled in our professionally accredited training programme. You will be involved in various stages of marine projects from tender engineering to construction and commissioning, ensuring innovative and effective solutions are delivered.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support the business development team by engineering client requirements into cost-effective solutions during the tender phase.
* Convert tender concepts into practical designs during the pre-construction phase, working alongside fabrication, operations and project delivery teams.
* Develop detailed technical information during the delivery phase to achieve client approval, procure materials, and facilitate construction, surveying, and commissioning activities.
* Coordinate and manage the execution of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring successful outcomes through effective collaboration with all project stakeholders.
* Assist the Commercial Team with project controls, including managing schedules, controlling costs, and overseeing cash flow.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety processes
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Engineering Degree (BEng or MEng) with a Grade of 2:1 or above.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an engineering environment, including on-site experience.
* Proficiency in using Eurocodes, British Standards and other relevant design codes and standards,.
* Understanding of compliance with relevant H&S regulations.
* Competence in Microsoft Office, Autodesk, and Structural Design software packages.
* Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong communication skills across all levels.
* Full UK Driving License.
