We have an exciting opportunity to welcome additional capacity into our Central Team as we appoint to the role of Governance and Compliance Officer. We are open to considering one full-time postholder or two part-time postholders who can together meet the needs of the role.

The successful candidate(s) will bring a strong understanding of school governance and demonstrate excellent administrative and interpersonal skills. The role includes clerking Local Academy Board meetings and providing high-quality governance administration, training, and advice. As part of the Central Team, the postholder(s) will contribute to delivering efficient and effective support to academies across the Trust.

Acting as an ambassador for the Trust, the Governance and Compliance Officer will liaise regularly with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, requiring discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload are essential, as the role also involves supporting additional Trust-wide projects as required.

Local Academy Board meetings take place in the late afternoon and evenings across our schools in Wakefield, Kirklees, and Barnsley. Therefore, the ability to attend evening meetings is essential, and working patterns (full-time or part-time) will be arranged to ensure appropriate coverage.
