As operations continue to grow, we are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to support a safe and compliant working environment across their UK sites. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and organised individual to play a key role in health and safety coordination within a technical and collaborative environment. You will work closely with the Health & Safety Manager and the wider team to uphold legal compliance, support safety initiatives, and promote a positive safety culture across all areas of the businessfrom laboratories and workshops to offices and R&D facilities. The role combines hands-on, administrative, and people-facing responsibilities. Youll be expected to travel regularly between our sites in Oxford, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Key Responsibilities Maintain high standards of health and safety across a varied, fast-paced workplace Support the implementation and review of safety procedures, policies, signage, and risk assessments Organise safety training sessions and liaise with external providers Coordinate internal and external audits Monitor and manage PPE stock and safety-critical equipment Maintain accurate records, including safety equipment maintenance logs Assist with accident and near-miss investigations and implement improvement actions Identify and contribute to ongoing improvements in safety processes Engage confidently with staff, contractors, and consultants at all levels Essential Requirements NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (or higher) Prior experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a production or scientific environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Full UK driving licence Desirable Working knowledge of regulations such as COSHH, DSEAR, ATEX, and REACH Experience assessing risks related to industrial machinery or hazardous substances Familiarity with PPE selection, purchasing, and safety equipment maintenance Knowledge of pressurised systems, local exhaust ventilation, and water safety protocols
