Organisation British Triathlon Salary £26,000 - £30,000 Location Hybrid - Home-based & British Triathlon Head Office in Loughborough Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 3 May 2026 Interview date 6 May 2026 Job Description We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our friendly and collaborative Finance Team. This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our financial and operational data.

Working closely with two experienced accountants, you will receive ongoing support and guidance while contributing to a range of core finance activities. This role is ideally suited to someone who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment and takes pride in delivering high quality, accurate work with a desire to learn and take on a diverse range of tasks.

Key tasks

- Manage the purchase ledger, including invoice processing and payment runs (including foreign currency transactions)
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Management of company credit card usage and administration
- Oversee sales ledger activity, including invoicing and credit control
- Process expenses accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and auditable financial records
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including issuing equipment such as phones and laptops
- Assist in the management accounts preparation for Triathlon Trust
- Provide support during Audit processes and preparation of required information
- Maintain bank mandates and manage authorised signatories
- Respond and action queries via the shared finance inbox in a timely manner
- Provide ad hoc administrative support across HR and payroll functions

Relationships

Our new Finance Assistant will report into the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be an integral and valued member of the Finance Team, collaborating with the People Team where required, and is likely to thrive through developing and maintaining close working relationships with all teams across British Triathlon.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential
- Strong financial data entry
- High level of accuracy and an eye for detail
- Integrity and an ability to work with confidential information

Desirable
- Working knowledge of Xero
- Would suit Level 2 or 3 AAT – this is desirable, but we are also open to study support for the right candidate.
