Role: InfoSec Ops Manager
Location: London - hybrid 2 days a week in the office
Reports to: CISO
The role
As Security Ops Manager, you'll support the information security needs of a busy, high-profile website and an administrative IT environment that supports nearly 1,000 people across 3 office locations with many remote workers. You will work closely with the Information Security team and engage with other departments within Rightmove (including IT Services, Product Development, Compliance, Legal, HR) to ensure security objectives are met, incidents are responded to effectively, and our security stance remains strong.
What you’ll be doing
* Providing technical leadership and acting as a subject matter expert on information security best-practice.
* Planning and delivering projects to achieve information security objectives.
* Collaborating with the Platform & Reliability Engineering team to ensure the website hosting environment in Google Cloud Platform follows established industry best-practice.
* Working with the IT Infrastructure team on security aspects of migrating on-premises Windows estate into Azure.
* Leading threat modelling sessions with technology teams from both the website and corporate IT functions.
* Setting up and managing SIEM and EDR/XDR tooling and establishing processes and workflows to support incident response and SOC activities.
* Leading threat hunts to proactively identify potential compromises.
* Working with team members and external partners on penetration tests and red team engagements to assess security posture, detection, and recovery capabilities.
* Assisting in evaluating regulatory/legislative requirements (e.g., FCA compliance, PCI-DSS, GDPR) and recommending actions as needed.
* Staying up to date with cyber threat intelligence and emerging attack vectors to shape response.
* Coaching and developing your people with regular 1-to-1s and continuous feedback.
* Supporting team members by actively removing blockers.
What you’ll bring to the role
* Minimum of five years in a technical security-based role, or equivalent research experience at an advanced education level.
* A degree in Computer Science, Computer Security or other technical area, or equivalent industry experience, or a high-level security qualification (e.g., CISSP, SANS Cyber Defence, EC-Council Certified Security Analyst, OSCP).
* Professional experience in three or more of the following areas (and willingness to learn the others):
* Linux OS security
* Securing Windows, Active Directory and M365
* Container security
* Cloud Security (GCP and/or Azure)
* SIEM and EDR / XDR systems
* Incident Response
* Networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS) and common Internet protocols (SMTP, HTTP)
* Experience in IT security within a cloud-focused environment
* Data processing skills – ELK, Splunk or SIEM experience beneficial
* Report writing and note taking skills
* Ability to prioritise both operational and project demands
* Line management experience
