Salary: up to £24,374 per annum
The Wellbeing & Engagement Officer’s role is to support students face-to-face and online.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering services and processes that provide an excellent student experience. This requires excellent people skills and good administrative ability. The post holder will provide first-level support and referrals to specialist services as needed and establish activities to help students develop skills and confidence outside the classroom.
ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Ensure effective case management of all welfare concerns and LDHD students, maintaining accurate records in the student information system in line with GDPR.
2. Ensure safeguarding of students according to Study Group policy, acting as a contact for staff concerns about student safety or wellbeing.
3. Provide 1:1 welfare and pastoral support, referring students to external support services when necessary.
4. Create and monitor Support Plans for students.
5. Coordinate support for students under 18, ensuring their safety and daily accountability.
6. Work with colleagues to support students with additional needs due to health or SEND.
7. Coordinate student Health Registration, collaborating with local GPs to ensure NHS registration and access to healthcare services.
8. Assist in planning and executing welfare events and promotional activities, including delivery in tutor sessions and liaising with external agencies.
9. Support students in completing Mitigating Circumstances Forms and attending related meetings.
10. Participate in Student Staff Liaison Committee and meetings.
11. Handle out-of-office welfare issues when required, with time in lieu.
12. Manage reception and student-facing environments, addressing queries via various channels and improving service quality.
13. Organize registration, induction, activities, and events, supporting team members.
14. Ensure timely communication with external stakeholders like parents, sponsors, and partner universities.
15. Maintain relationships with key university departments and external partners.
16. Engage in marketing and agent visits, contributing to materials and presentations.
17. Provide administrative support across the centre and cover for absent staff when needed.
18. Perform any other duties as required by the Senior Leadership Team.
ABOUT YOU
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating independence in work and thinking.
2. Safeguarding training or equivalent experience.
3. Experience supporting students in an educational context.
4. Experience organizing trips, including risk assessments.
5. Experience creating engaging content and delivering workshops.
6. Experience collaborating with external partners for activities and engagement.
7. Experience facilitating student feedback mechanisms.
8. Experience working in a regulated environment and customer service.
