Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd are the routine operations and maintenance contractor, based in Teesside, for the A19/A168 road network between Dishforth and Jarrow.
Highways Operative Role
1. Team : Incident Response Unit
2. Location: SRM A19 depot in Billingham, TS23 1PX
3. Shifts: AM (03:45 – 12:15), PM (11:45 – 20:15). Some weekends (07:45 – 16:15).
4. Primary role is to be 1st responder to any incident on the A19, assisting emergency services & recovery operators, deploying emergency lane/road closures, making everybody safe and clearing the carriageway as quickly as practicable to keep traffic flowing.
5. Secondary role is to maintain the Project Road through proactive maintenance works to include, but not limited to, checking and clearing drainage channels, vegetation management, litter picking.
6. Working on the Highway & Highway Verge is a manual job which requires a reasonable level of agility and fitness.
Your Profile:
7. The successful candidate must have an LGV C1 Driving Licence.
8. Hold a CSCS card.
9. Must be able to attend any incident within 60 minutes of a call. So reasonable proximity to the depot is required.
10. Experience of traffic management an advantage.
