Forensic Service User and Carer Engagement Lead

An opportunity has arisen to join Secure Services Guild Lodge as the Forensic Service User and Carer Engagement Lead.
The role ensures effective engagement of service users and carers across Forensic Inpatient and Community services for Lancashire and South Cumbria. It supports the development and implementation of the Involvement and Engagement Strategy for Forensic Services and works with the Capacity and Flow team, clinical services and networks to place users and carers at the heart of decision‑making.
Main duties of the job
Forensic Mental Health Services are provided at Guild Lodge, Whittingham, with 154 in‑patient beds across three main service lines: men’s, women’s and an acquired brain injury service (men’s). The post works with inpatient, community and outreach services to foster stakeholder involvement and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
* Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a similar role involving community or stakeholder engagement, relationship management or communications/marketing.
* High digital literacy – Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Willingness to undertake further training and/or qualifications.
Knowledge
* Personal experience of being a service user of secure mental health or learning disability and autism services.
* Experience working with services, commissioners or providers to enable discharge from hospital and develop community support.
* Ability to work across disciplines.
Experience
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office programmes.
* Experience in data analysis and interpretation.
* Ability to develop comprehensive and professional reports, data and insight.
* Demonstrable evidence of working in a project environment.
