Insurance Advisor | Hebden Bridge | Full-time preferred; part-time considered | £23,000 – £25,000 per annum
Our client is an independent, personal insurance company, offering friendly service at competitive prices from their offices in Huddersfield, Hebden Bridge and Sheffield.
The role of Insurance Advisor involves providing expert insurance advice and professional support to clients, helping them to navigate the complexities of insurance. The Insurance Advisor will work with both individuals and businesses to understand their needs, assess their risks and recommend suitable insurance products from various insurance providers to secure appropriate cover in line with their needs and will also manage the overall insurance process by acting as an intermediary between clients and insurance companies.
Please note- this role is primarily based in Hebden Bridge, with occasional work required at our Huddersfield office.
Are you the right person for the job?
* Experience working in an office environment – ideally within insurance (desired)
* Educated to A-Level (or equivalent) and GCSE Maths and English (desired)
* PC literate with good keyboard skills
* Confident using the internet, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally insurance software, merchant services or CRM systems
* A confident, professional communicator (face-to-face, verbal and written)
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Organised with excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills
* Honest, trustworthy and aware of Data Protection and FCA compliance requirements
* Willing to complete Continuous Professional Development (CPD) tasks
* Proactive about learning, development and working towards relevant qualifications
What will your role look like?
Day-to-day, you’ll be a key part of a busy insurance broker’s office, supporting clients with professional advice and ensuring the smooth running of insurance processes, including:
* Handling calls, emails and correspondence
* Welcoming and supporting customers face-to-face
* Understanding client needs to recommend suitable insurance solutions
* Researching policies and negotiating with insurers to secure the best cover
* Managing renewals, amendments, cancellations and accurate record keeping
* Handling client payments, refunds and credit control tasks in line with FCA rules
* Guiding clients through the claims process
* Building strong, long-term client relationships
* Meeting or exceeding sales targets and supporting business growth
* Providing cover for colleagues when needed
* Ensuring compliance with company standards and FCA regulations
