We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Tower Hamlets that is looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting students aged 11-16, including those with special educational needs, while working alongside dedicated teachers and support staff. It’s an ideal role if you’re considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, youth work or pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing tailored classroom support to individual students and small groups.
Assisting pupils to access learning across a range of subjects, using creative and practical strategies.
Supporting students with additional needs, including helping to implement education and behaviour plans.
Encouraging students’ independence, social skills and confidence.
Supporting teachers with classroom activities, lesson preparation and supervision during breaks or school trips.
What we’re looking for:
A recent graduate, ideally in education, psychology, social sciences or a related field.
A patient, empathetic and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people with special educational needs.
Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A valid enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
Previous experience supporting young people in any setting (formal or informal) is welcomed but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
