THE ROLE & WHY IT EXISTS
Gravitee is taking APIs to the next level - we are the premier, open source API platform and we want everyone to know how amazing our software is. To make this happen, we are looking for someone passionate, curious and ambitious. This is where you come in.
As Finance Director - EMEA, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling our financial infrastructure, governance, and insights across the EMEA region.
You will lead end-to-end financial control, reporting, and compliance functions, while partnering cross-functionally to support Gravitee's commercial and strategic decisions. You will work hand-in-hand with the Global Associate Finance Director to deliver transformation initiatives and system automation across global operations.
This is a hands-on, leadership-level position for a finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environments.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Your daily to-do list will feature some or all of the following, but is not limited to:
* Own financial operations and leadership for the EMEA region, covering all entities and reporting obligations.
* Deliver accurate, timely monthly closes (target: 5-day close) through automation, documentation, and accountability.
* Lead statutory and tax compliance across UK and EMEA jurisdictions, including VAT, sales tax, and corporate tax filings.
* Overseeaudits, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and multi-currency consolidations.
* Design and enforce robust internal controls, standardised accounting policies, and governance frameworks.
* Partner with the Global Associate Finance Director on:
- NetSuite and SpenDesk implementations
- Cross-entity automation of financial data and reporting
- Consolidated global dashboards and controls
* Build and manage a lean, high-performing finance team or outsourced partner model for regional delivery.
* Provide commercial finance support to Sales, HR, and department heads across EMEA.
* Prepare insightful management reporting and lead variance analysis for CFO/Board packs.
* Champion continuous process improvement across accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and expenses.
* Collaborate with the CFO on cash flow, treasury planning, and fundraising readiness.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS The right candidate will possess at least the following skills, if not more:
* ACA/ACCA qualified (Big 4 background preferred).
* 5-7+ years of SaaS scale-up experience with at least 2-3 years in a Finance
Director or senior leadership capacity
* Strong track record in:
- Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation
- Post-acquisition integration
- Compliance across UK, EMEA, IFRS/US GAAP
* Experienced in financial systems transformation (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Pigment)
* Hands-on knowledge of:
- Payroll across multiple jurisdictions
- Automate tools (Power BI, G-Accon, etc)
- Expense sytems (SpenDesk, Navan, Expensify)
TEAM COLLABORATION
This role is central to Gravitee's finance leadership team.
* Work closely with the Global Associate Finance Director, aligning on global strategy, controls, and reporting frameworks.
* Partner with the CFO on transformation, capital efficiency, and fundraising readiness.
* Support wider stakeholders including People, Legal, Revenue, and Sales Ops with timely financial insights and support.
