Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Caretaker to join our thriving Secondary school, located in a vibrant setting and supporting over 1,400 pupils. We are seeking to appoint a capable and experienced person to contribute to and support the development of our expanding grammar school. As a valued member of our site team, you will be working closely with the Site Manager in the full range of duties to ensure a clean, safe and secure environment for users of the school buildings and grounds.
About the Role:
As our Assistant Caretaker, you will:
* Carry out physical checks of the buildings and take necessary action for any repairs, also making good of any areas which could be a source of danger to either the users or security of the building.
* Report any issues found and rectified or potential issues arising
* Open/close the building as required during the day
* Carry out routine cleaning duties using the appropriate materials and mechanical cleaning aids as necessary
* Check the buildings regularly to ensure no unauthorised persons are present
About You:
The successful candidate will bring:
* Experience in caretaking and maintenance work
* Knowledge of manual handling techniques
* Ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision and as part of a team
* Knowledge and experience in using hand power tools and workshop machinery
