PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To take ownership of HR operations and data protection across PRF Composite Materials, ensuring compliant, consistent and professional people and data frameworks in line with business standards, culture, and long-term objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources & People Management
* Lead recruitment end-to-end: sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
* Ensure reference checks and legal right-to-work checks in the UK are completed for all hires prior to confirmation of employment
* Conduct inductions, probation reviews, and ongoing employee check-ins
* Manage disciplinary, performance, and absence processes in collaboration with the Head of Operations
* Support managers with people matters, ensuring consistency, fairness, and professionalism
* Maintain and develop HR policies, frameworks, and employment documentation
* Support leadership in implementing structured onboarding, development, and cultural initiatives and take active role in this.
* Visit PRF sites periodically to engage with teams and address people-related matters
Data Protection & Compliance
* Take full responsibility for all of PRF’s data protection activities
* Maintain data protection policies, registers, and compliance documentation
* Advise the business on data handling, privacy, and risk management
* Act as the internal point of contact for data protection matters
* Support awareness and good practice across the business
Culture & Communication
* Work closely with the Marketing Director and HoO on induction communications and culture initiatives
* Help translate company values and standards into clear, practical people processes
* Support leadership in maintaining a professional, respectful, and standards-driven working environment
You should be fully independent in day-to-day execution of this role, working within the senior management team and liaising as required. PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Proven HR management experience within an SME or hands-on environment
* Solid experience managing data protection compliance
* High competence with Windows-based software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Strong judgement, discretion, and professional credibility
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Desirable:
* Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments
* Experience supporting organisational culture initiatives
* Experience using LLM-based AI tools such as Copilot
Qualifications
Essential
* Relevant HR qualification or equivalent professional experience
Desirable:
* CIPD qualification
* Data protection or GDPR-specific training
