Job Title: Family Support Worker Who You Are You have significant experience in working with children and families, both as part of a team and in collaboration with partner agencies. You possess an essential understanding of child development and relevant legislation, including the Children Act. You demonstrate strong assessment skills and mediation techniques, and you are adept at articulating and modeling good parenting skills. You have the ability to work on your own initiative and adapt to challenging situations, including lone working in family homes. A proactive and flexible individual, you are committed to supporting children and families to achieve positive outcomes. What the Job Involves As a Family Support Worker for Worcestershire County Council, you will support children, young people, and families where a Child In Need Plan is in place. You will be engaged in direct work and support of children, including pre-schoolers, and empower parents/carers to meet their children's needs. Your responsibilities will include developing parental understanding of child development, supporting families at risk of breakdown, and keeping children safe. You will work collaboratively with other agencies, social workers, and maintain records and reports according to safeguarding policies. Flexibility is vital as you will work outside normal office hours when necessary.
